Dr. Uribe received her B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology at San Francisco State University, where she became interested in developmental biology under Dr. Felipe-Andres Ramirez-Weber. Dr. Uribe received her doctoral training in retinal cell and developmental biology under the supervision of Dr. Jeffrey M. Gross of the University of Texas at Austin. Subsequently, her postdoctoral research was in Dr. Marianne Bronner’s laboratory at the California Institute of Technology, where she embarked on studies of neural crest and enteric nervous system development in zebrafish. Dr. Uribe was recruited to join Rice University through the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) and is a CPRIT Scholar in Cancer Research. Since joining Rice, Dr. Uribe has established the Laboratory of Neural Crest and Enteric Nervous System Development and is now a National Science Foundation CAREER Awardee.
